#CatalanGP: Barcelona is just thrilling for Lukas Tulovic
Kiefer Racing’s World Championship newcomer take pleasure with the upcoming classic race in Advance.
Last weekend’s tragic accident in which IDM Supersport600 rider Dennis Lippert lost his life has shocked many people. Kiefer Racing wishes his family, friends and team ones a lot of strength at this difficult time.
This weekend marks round seven of the season just outside of Spain’s metropolis of Barcelona. Lukas Tulovic is familiar with the varied track layout due to of many starts in the Moto2™ European Championship as well as in the Spanish Supersport600 Championship.
#3 Lukas TULOVIC (Kiefer Racing, KTM):
"First of all, I would like to express my condolences to the family and friends of Dennis Lippert. We’re deeply shocked from this sad accident. Yet we’ll also do this weekend what Dennis also liked to do. Like all other Spanish Grand Prix circuits, I also know the Barcelona track very well because I've been racing there a lot before. That's why I know where to go and that should of course make it easier for us into start the weekend. I'm thrilled with the track itself. The layout is mostly fast and flowing. Only the spot at the end of the back straight, which has been used for two years, is a little bit tight and twisty. But on the other hand, we get our money's worth in the last two corners. It's incredibly fun to push through there. At the long main straight, however, slipstream will play a role again, as in Mugello."
"Unlike previous years, when I've been here at this time of the year, it's not supposed to get that hot this weekend. Since the CEV series was here last weekend, of course I asked my mates in our European Championship team about a lot. I was often in touch with Marcel Brenner. But he did not tell me about anything particular in terms of the track’s conditions. Just when it was very hot, he experienced slightly difficulties. I think that shouldn't be the case because of the weather forecast for the next few days. Other than that, it's going to be a special weekend for me from a different perspective. For the first time since I'm in the World Championship, four German riders will start in the Moto2 class. I'm delighted for Jonas (Folger) that he finally is able to give his comeback."
