For Sunday’s race at Barcelona, Lukas Tulovic is hoping for an opening lap without any incident in order to take benefit from his fast and consistent pace.

On day two of practice, fine summer weather has reached the northeast of Spain finally. During qualifying sessions in the afternoon, track temperatures were measured around the 50 degrees marker. These conditions were responsible for low grip conditions. But Lukas Tulovic and his technicians were able to adapt well. Thanks to some setup changes, the 19-year-old talent from Eberbach, Tulovic celebrates his birthday today, had a better feeling with his bike. At the end of the otherwise so pleasant day he and Kiefer Racing had to deal with P28 on the starting grid. The plan for the race day is therefore to catch up as many as possible positions.

The season seventh race is schedule for Sunday at 12:20 pm CET.

#3 Lukas TULOVIC (Kiefer Racing, KTM), Grid position 28th - 1´45.605 (5/9):

"Regarding the feeling with the bike we could improve a lot compared to yesterday. I felt much more comfortable today. This has already had a very positive effect during FP3. We were able to improve our lap times considerably. During qualifying, I was able to go a bit faster again. But I would have hoped to be able to tickle out a bit more. During my last lap I even had a really strong rider in front of me. But unfortunately, I screwed up the thing myself when I was one too late on the brakes at turn one. That's a bit annoying because one or two tenths of a second might still have been possible."

"Nevertheless, we can be satisfied. With 1.4 seconds behind the pole-setter’s time we don't need to hide. However, 28th on the starting grid is certainly by far not ideal. Our pace in the race set-up is good. This weekend we already did some consistent laps. That's why I'm very confident for tomorrow. Hopefully everything will run smoothly at the start this time and that there won't be another mistake like that one at Mugello or as it has happened several times this season. So, keep our fingers crossed that everything is going well during the opening lap because then it can be a good race."
