#AustrianGP: In Silverstone to start from zero again
After the stressful start into the second part of the season, Kiefer Racing and Lukas Tulovic are very happy to have a one-week break now until the next race.
The ambitious Lukas Tulovic was no longer able to turn the tide on race day at Spielberg. After last week's bad news, the 19-year-old talent from Eberbach was not free enough in his head to concentrate fully on his tasks. Sunday’s round eleven admidst the fascinating scenery of the Styrian mountains was accordingly disappointing for him.
#3 Lukas TULOVIC (Kiefer Racing, KTM Moto2), P27:
"A weekend to forget. There's nothing else to talk about. But the start into the second half of the season started so promisingly one week ago. Brno was really greatly. I felt super comfortable with the bike and everything was fitting perfectly in the team. But here in Spielberg it didn't work out at all. Of course, there were a few minor problems with the brake, but overall it didn't work out as we had imagined in terms of my performance. So, my first Grand Prix in the Austrian neighbourhood is to check off. Too bad, because I really like this place and everything surrounding this event."
"So, it's already time to focus on Silverstone. I think it was just a matter of my mind, which is why I was completely off my level of performance. Fortunately, we’ve now break until the next race. It's time to calm down and above all to get your head clear again. In Silverstone we will attack with freshly charged energy again."
Jochen KIEFER (Team manager / Technical director):
"Spielberg was the second weekend in a row that was to forget. We think that last week's news and information was too much to process for a young rider like Lukas. He also could feel confident that he would continue next year. We wanted to continue our plan with him either and bring him upwards steps by step. But this time Lukas wanted to show everyone that he could do it and of course this shot went backwards."
"Apart from that, difficulties throughout the weekend made it difficult for us to work properly. But we’re sure that we will have solved them by the next race. But after this difficult weekend it's nice to see that Lukas is already top motivated for Silverstone again. He doesn't know Silverstone yet, so he sets all switches to zero. It's going to be a very easy task and we think that these are the best conditions for the weekend after next."
