#BritishGP: Making friends with Silverstone quickly
After the opening day of round twelve, Kiefer Racing and England rookie Lukas Tulovic are right on schedule for the Weekend.
The 19-year-old Lukas Tulovic has pulled himself out of the affair well during Friday’s first free practice sessions in good conditions. Without previous track knowledges for the longest circuit of the world championship calendar, the KTM rider actually only needed a few laps to get familiarized with the 5.9 kilometres long Northamptonshire circuit and its 18 corners. Tulovic had the key points quickly under control, as can be seen with his improvements by two seconds in the afternoon.
#3 Lukas TULOVIC (Kiefer Racing, KTM Moto2), FP1: P30 - 2´10.044 (15/15) / FP2: P30 - 2´08.023 (9/14):
"As expected, Silverstone creates a lot of fun. These many fast sectors simply shape the character of this track. On the other hand, 18 corners over the course of one lap aren’t easy to get used to. That's why it took me a few laps during this morning’s FP1 to memorise all the key points. But as is usual for a beginner at a previously unknown track, lap by lap things got faster. We finally finished Friday three seconds off. Unfortunately, I missed my personal goal narrowly by 0.031 seconds because I actually wanted to be under three seconds in terms of the gap to the front today. But so far everything looks positive and I feel very comfortable with my bike. There are still a few small things to improve. We'll take a look at these areas too and I’m convinced that we'll find solutions so that we can attack even more tomorrow. Hopefully we'll be able then to reduce the gap to less than two seconds."
